Tips On Choosing A Perfect Mens Diamond Wedding Ring

Diamonds are not longer considered to be for women only. Men's diamond wedding rings have become a popular choice for grooms, as they are attractive, and can match the ring of their bride. Men also enjoy the social status that comes from wearing diamonds just as much as women do.
When shopping for men's wedding rings, there are several factors to consider. The material, design, and diamond quality are just a few of these considerations. Though the diamond ring that the bride will wear will likely take the spotlight, the diamonds on the groom's ring should also be chosen wisely.
There are four things to consider where diamonds are concerned, the weight of the carat, stone clarity, stone color, and how it is cut. A full carat is equal to 200 milligrams. However, few men's diamond wedding rings feature a stone of this size. What is more common is a band with several smaller sized diamonds. In jeweler terms, one carat is 100 points. This means that 10 point diamonds are one tenth of a whole carat.
Clarity refers to the number of flaws that a diamond has, and how serious these flaws are. Though most of these flaws are invisible to the untrained eye, it is something to consider. Obviously, diamonds with fewer flaws are considered to be more valuable.
Diamonds that are completely free of flaws are quite rare. There are usually only a few hundred flawless diamonds that are produced yearly. There are several different grading scales that are used to determine clarity. The GIA, or Gemological Institute of America, is the most widely used. This scale grades diamonds from flawless to included, with many rankings in between. Inclusions refer to the flaws within a diamond, so ratings such as VVS (very very slightly included) designate better diamonds.
The color of a diamond is also ranked using a system. This system helps consumers know how yellow a diamond may be. Completely clear and colorless diamonds are assigned the letter D. Diamonds that are nearly colorless are assigned the letters I and J. Noticeable yellow generally starts at letters M and N. The scale ends with Z, which is a totally yellow stone. The average diamond sold in the United States is typically between G and H.
The cut of the diamond can be round, square, or any number of different cuts. The type of cut that you choose is not as important as that the cut is performed by a skilled diamond cutter. Round is the most common cut, and is frequently seen on engagement rings, as well as wedding bands.
Men's platinum wedding rings work nicely with diamonds. Platinum is quite sturdy, and has become a top choice for men today. Men's titanium wedding rings are also a great choice. Diamonds fit well into either of these choices, and will create a look that any man will be proud to wear.
